15 Year Anniversary
In 1996 The SIMI Group was created to address Security, Infrastructure, Messaging and Imaging needs for the public and private sectors. From our first clients – California State Fair and Exposition, Phelps Dodge International and the Arizona Department of Economic Security – to the tens of thousands of users that utilize SIMI-based solutions today, it has been a truly shared experience. Fifteen years, two spin-offs and a move to Granite Bay later, SIMI is still meeting needs with innovative new products, solutions and techniques. This Fall, our new Software as a Service cloud-based offerings for Public Health and Health Security will launch making fifth-generation technologies available for a much lower cost to federal, state, local, non-profit and private customers. Congratulations to our team, past and present, for their unwavering pursuit of operational and technical excellence. Thanks to our many customers and partners over the years for enabling our success!

Health Resilience Exchange
In August 2011, SIMI was approved as the small business private sector Integration and Certification (I&C) partner for the Health Resilience Exchange (H-ReX).
H-ReX is a national data and information exchange serving healthcare, public health, health security and homeland security sectors through an innovative public/private partnership. SIMI is providing services to eligible hospitals, eligible providers, vendors and health information exchanges to meet Population and Public Health Meaningful Use financial incentive measures under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 HITECH program. Through the SIMI C&I process, eligible hospitals and hospital systems will also lower the cost and resources mandated for public health reporting through the use of H-ReX to accept and deliver reportable laboratory reports, immunization updates and syndromic surveillance data.

It's Back! Health Informatics
Fundamental transformation of quality and cost curves is now possible through actionable near real-time information. After a four-year sabbatical envisioning and putting into practice the fusion of information science, computer science, mathematics, service oriented architectures and health care, the SIMI health informatics team is back! Our rich real-world experience in the definition, strategy and planning of optimized data acquisition, storage, policy-based access and analytics to serve healthcare and public health is already being realized. The SIMI framework enables scarce resources to focus on the practical application of informatics by leveraging HL7 standards and using data quality, terminology, translation, and validation services and tools. These methods proven in the deployment of the first national software-as-a-service health data and information exchange infrastructure are now available on a consultative basis.
